HL7 ADT Outbound Interface

Use this interface to export patient information from SYSTOC into your organization's system. This eliminates duplicate data entry and maintains the same information in your system and SYSTOC. You can send from Patient Summary or orders screens.

Interfaced data includes patient demographics, guarantor and insurance information, and your organization's Patient ID. HL7 ADT inbound and outbound interfaces are licensed separately. Contact UL EHS Sustainability sales department at Visit the contact us page at www.ulehss.com for more information.

Requirements

The HL7 ADT Outbound Interface is a module of the SYSTOC HL7 Exchange. Hosted SYSTOC customers require no additional hardware. Self-hosted customers can obtain technical requirements for the SYSTOC HL7 Exchange from the Customer Resource Center at https://ul.custhelp.com or by contacting the Workplace Health & Safety Sales Department at Visit the contact us page at www.ulehss.com. You can also contact Customer Support at 844.881.8713 or SYSTOCSupport@ul.com.

Hosted and self-hosted customers require an initial technical setup that includes installing the HL7 ADT Outbound Interface, configuring the communication with the Workplace Health & Safety Integration Service, and testing the communication.

SYSTOC Setup

Setup in SYSTOC includes making a selection on Program Preferences:
  • Send from Patient Summary: go to Utility > Program Preferences > Interface Settings; select ADT Outbound.
  • Send from Orders: go to Utility > Program Preferences > Interface Settings; select ADT Outbound (Orders).

How does it work?

Sending a Message: ADT messages are sent from the Patient Summary screen or from an orders screen in Appointment Register, Orders, Inj/Illness Visit, or Clinical Work Area. Messages sent from orders screens include additional injury-related data. No information is sent from a PDF attached to an order. Refer to the mapping document for detailed information.
  • Patient Summary: when the screen is saved (a new patient record or an update to an existing patient record); an ADT message is sent to your organization's system.
  • Orders: when you change the order status to ADT Send and save the order, an ADT message is sent to your organization's system.
Checking the Send Status: Check the status of a sent message on the screen from which you sent it.
  • Patient Summary: The message status displays in the HL7 Information field. You may see a message: ADT Request sent to remote server. To see the final status, refresh the screen.
  • Orders: The message status displays in the HL7 Information column of order grids. See Tracking HL7 Exchange Transmissions.
