Creating Memo Forms

To create a form for use in the memo editor you must design it in a text editor, save the file in ASCII text format, and then import it into the memo.

See Using F3 Memo (Non-PDF) Forms Quick Guide for a description of this process.

Instead of using a Memo Form it may be more efficient to enter data into a PDF form that is attached to a patient order. Both types of forms require a certain amount of planning and effort to develop. A PDF form is generally more pleasing cosmetically and easier to fill out. With a PDF form, when the form is created properly, fields will autofill with data that are available from other parts of SYSTOC. Conversely, data that are entered into the PDF form will also be entered into the relevant areas of SYSTOC. However, you should explore both of these options thoroughly before you determine whether a Memo Form or a PDF form is a better choice for data entry in any particular situation. If you decide you would like custom PDF forms created for you, contact SYSTOC's Reports/Forms department.
