Task Prototype Planning

  1. Plan.
    1. Will you be using PDF forms to record activity? See Form-based Versus Screen-based Data Entry.
    2. Will you be billing for services?
    3. How does work flow through the clinic?
    4. Look through the Sample Reports book and decide on the reports to use.
  2. Set up fees.
If you will be billing, set up the fee table first, as you will typically want a task for everything you bill.
  3. Set up Task Groups.
Look at the groups and subgroups we provide for organizing tasks, see Task Groups.
  4. Set up Task Status.
Review the steps we provide for work flow, add more if needed, see Task Status.
  5. Set up Task Work Group.
Review the work groups we provide, add more if needed, see Task Work Group.
  6. Define tasks.
Add your tasks, see Defining Task Prototypes.
  7. Establish work flow for tasks.
Create work flow for applicable tasks, see Setting Up Work Flow Sequences.
  8. Create general procedures.
Consider the reasons why people visit the clinic and group the tasks that go with each type of visit into procedures. See Procedures.
