FMLA Tracking Process
Track Family Medical Leave (FMLA) in SYSTOC.

Begin by adding an injury screen for
the employee requesting leave.
- Select the Non WC option.
- Enter N (no) in the Info Rel field to ensure the record does not show on reports or in iSYSTOC.
- Use other fields on the screen as desired to capture additional information.

Create an authorization for the
leave.
- Indicate the correct Status (A for Active, I for Inactive or P for Pending).
- Use the appropriate TOS ID to indicate the type of leave.
- Use the Authorized By and Physician Sign Date fields to document who authorized the leave and when it was authorized.
- Make the appropriate entries in the begin and end date fields.
- Enter other information as desired, using the F3 Memo to store text entries if needed.
- Optionally attach documents to the patient record from Orders - Attach File.

Update the information as
appropriate. Typically you would change the status to
A (active) when the leave begins and change it
to
I (inactive) when the employee returns.
- Use the search capability to compile data about requested, active or past leave activity. (Do not delete past authorizations if you want to maintain historical records.) If necessary, you can request a custom report for generating more complex statistical information.
