Continuity of Care Record Interface

The CCR is a summarization of administrative, demographic, and clinical information about a patient's healthcare, covering one or more healthcare encounters. Contact the UL EHS Sustainability sales department at Visit the contact us page at www.ulehss.com if you would like more information on using this interface.

Requirements

The Continuity of Care Record is a module of the SYSTOC HL7 Exchange. Hosted SYSTOC customers require no additional hardware. Self-hosted customers can obtain technical requirements for the SYSTOC HL7 Exchange from the Customer Resource Center at https://ul.custhelp.com or by contacting Workplace Health and Safety Sales Department at Visit the contact us page at www.ulehss.com. You can also contact Customer Support at 844.881.8713 or SYSTOCSupport@ul.com.

Hosted and self-hosted customers require an initial technical setup that includes installing the HL7 Continuity of Care Record Interface, configuring the communication with the Workplace Health & Safety Integration Service, and testing the communication.

SYSTOC Setup

Once the technical setup is completed, SYSTOC setup includes selecting Continuity of Care Record Outbound in Utility > Program Preferences > Interface Settings. A CCR is sent when the Tap2Chart form used to create the note is a form that requires an injury.

How Does it Work?

The CCR is compiled from SYSTOC and Tap2Chart data. When a Tap2Chart note is finalized, the encrypted CCR data is sent to a secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) server, along with a style sheet to produce the CCR in a web browser. Your clinical software system may use its own style sheet to display the CCR.

For detailed information about the SYSTOC and Tap2Chart fields from which the CCR is compiled, see Where Does Continuity of Care Record Data Come From?. You can also find the SYSTOC HL7 Exchange Continuity of Care Record.pdf on the Customer Resource Center at https://ul.custhelp.com.

Information about the status of a transmission is displayed in the Status field of a standard order grid in the Status and HL7 Information columns. See Tracking HL7 Exchange Transmissions.

You can re-send an order with a status of CCR Error.
  1. Click on the Status column and select CCR Send.
  2. Click out of the field.
  3. Press Save.
  4. Check the status message and information memo to verify that the status changed to CCR Sent.
Tip: These steps can also be used to send an individual CCR.
Note: The order must contain a finalized Tap2Chart note. If you change the status of an order to CCR Send and the attached Tap2Chart note is not finalized, a message displays in the Status and HL7 Information fields.
