HL7 ADT Inbound Interface

Use this interface to import patient information from your organization's system into SYSTOC. This eliminates duplicate data entry and maintains the same information in SYSTOC and your system.

Interfaced data includes patient demographics, guarantor and insurance information, and your organization's Patient ID. HL7 ADT inbound and outbound interfaces are licensed separately. Contact UL EHS Sustainability sales department at Visit the contact us page at www.ulehss.com for more information.

Requirements

The HL7 ADT Inbound Interface is a module of the SYSTOC HL7 Exchange. Hosted SYSTOC customers require no additional hardware. Self-hosted customers can obtain technical requirements for the SYSTOC HL7 Exchange from the Customer Resource Center at https://ul.custhelp.com or by contacting the Workplace Health & Safety Sales Department at Visit the contact us page at www.ulehss.com. You can also contact Customer Support at 844.881.8713 or SYSTOCSupport@ul.com.

Hosted and self-hosted customers require an initial technical setup that includes installing the HL7 ADT Interface, configuring the communication with the Workplace Health & Safety Integration Service, and testing the communication.

SYSTOC Setup

The only required SYSTOC setup is making sure appropriate users have permission to add or delete External System or External Patient ID information on Patient Summary. You can decide during implementation who is allowed to add or delete this information.
Screen Name and Path Component Name Permissions
Utility > Security > Permissions frmPatientSumry

Patient Folder > Patient Summary

Allow Add, Allow Delete. (Updating is also handled by this permission.)

How does it work?

A clinic staff person adds or updates patient information in your organization's system. That system sends the encrypted patient data to the SYSTOC receiving system. The SYSTOC receiving system looks for a matching patient record in the SYSTOC database. The patient's information is updated if a matching record is found. A new patient record is added if a matching record is not found.

Download the data mapping document SYSTOC HL7 Exchange: ADT Interface Inbound Data Mapping.pdf from the Customer Resource Center at https://ul.custhelp.com. This document contains the HL7 details needed by your organization's system to send ADT (patient demographic) messages to SYSTOC.
