Deleting Appointments

To remove an unwanted appointment, it must be deleted from the Appointment Register screen. Display the appointment on that screen (using the Search capability to find it, or by double-clicking the appointment on the schedule grid). Then press Ctrl+D or the Delete button located at the top of the screen.

SYSTOC will ask if you are sure that you want to delete the selected appointment, and will state the patient name, time and Staff ID for that appointment.

Note: Be certain to read the message; the appointment you are deleting may not be what you think!

If you answer yes, and the appointment has Orders attached to it and the status of the appointment is A, C, or N, the program will simply delete the orders without further question. If the appointment has already occurred, however, the program will ask if you want to retain the orders, with a default choice of Yes.

Note: Be extremely cautious about deleting appointments. Although not recommended, it is possible that someone attached a file to the order of a future appointment, and deleting the appointment will lose that file. It is much better to change the date or time rather than delete.
