Appointments

The Appointments choice is used to schedule appointments and initiate the flow of information that accompanies the patient encounter. It consists of two screens, the Appointment Register and the Schedule grid. The Schedule grid lets you view providers' schedules and find available time slots; the Appointment Register is used to locate specific appointments and view/add appointments and the attached orders.

Default appointment duration time and background color on the schedule grid can be set for each appointment type to enhance work flow. See Appointment Types

SYSTOC users who regularly use Appointments may wish to select default settings to determine whose schedule and which view (Daily, Weekly or Group) they will see initially on the Schedule grid. These defaults are set in the Utility section. Staff who regularly handle scheduling may also wish to set SYSTOC to always start from the Appointments module.
