Breath Alcohol

SYSTOC stores the results of breath alcohol testing obtained by using an Evidential Breath Testing device (EBT). Results for an individual patient may be added from the order’s Data/Print button, PDF form (recommended). Both initial and confirmation results are kept in the same record.

Label Description
Patient ID Patient’s identification number.
Federally Regulated Identifies federally regulated tests. A checkmark indicates a federally regulated test—unchecked indicates that it is not.
Date Date the test was administered; defaults to today.
Test Time Time the test was given in 24-hour format.
Test # Number of the test (from machine printout).
Company ID Company that requested the test. The employee’s current company is automatically inserted; alter if needed.

Job ID Entered by SYSTOC automatically if available; alter if needed.
Location ID Multi-site location code, if used.
Staff ID Technician performing the test. Must be a Breath Alcohol Technician (BAT). There is a field in the Medical Staff database in File Maintenance to indicate whether the individual is a BAT.
Serial # Serial # of the EBT, selected from the lookup. We recommend adding all test equipment to File Maintenance > Setup - Screening > Equipment before creating Breath Alcohol records; it is easier than adding equipment on the fly from the F5 lookup here.
Date Calibrated Most recent calibration of the EBT; filled automatically, based on serial number.
Random ID ID code created by SYSTOC to indicate the unique randomization of the testing pool when this individual was selected for the test. Leave this field blank if this test was not part of a random selection process, otherwise enter or look up the number of the randomization that selected this person for an alcohol test. See Random Drug Testing for more information.
Test Reason Press F5 for a list of reasons with descriptions.
