Understanding the Remit Type

The Remit Type is the only significant field. It links to two places in SYSTOC:

The insurance specified on the invoice. If the invoice’s Plan ID belongs to a Benefit Organization Plan with an Insurance Type that matches the Remit Type, the address in the Location Remit Address screen will print on the invoice.
The Invoice Type specified on the invoice. If the invoice type matches the Remit Type, the remit address will be printed. If neither the Plan ID nor the Invoice Type on the invoice match the Remit Type, the primary (P) remit address prints on the invoice.

For example, to have all revenue from the Medicaid program processed by Mary Jones, who works at your base location, do this:

Select the Location record that has the blank Location ID.
Click the Edit Remit Address button, and Add a new record with a Remit Type of D, Mary’s mailing address, and Mary’s name on the Attention line.
Make sure all the Benefit Plans that are related to Medicaid have a D in the Insurance Type field.

Valid Remit Types

`G`	Group Health	Used if matches invoice’s Plan ID link to Insurance Type
`F`	FECA	Used if matches invoice’s Plan ID link to Insurance Type
`O`	Other	Used if matches invoice’s Plan ID link to Insurance Type
`H`	1500 Claim Form (HCFA) invoice	Used if matches invoice’s Invoice Type
`S`	Standard invoice	Used if matches invoice’s Invoice Type
`U`	UB Claim Form invoice	Used if matches invoice’s Invoice Type

Priority	Condition
1	The Remit Type matches the invoice’s benefit plan’s Insurance Type code.
2	The Remit Type matches the invoice’s Invoice Type code.
3	The Remit Type is Primary.
