Drug Testing for Self-Employed Patients

If your clinic sometimes performs DOT drug testing for self-employed patients, create a Company and Company Drug Program specifically to handle such tests. Give the company a name that is easy to recognize, such as SELF or SELFEMP for Self Employed or OWNEROP for Owner Operator.

Because this company and program may be used for numerous patients, complete only the required Company Dept/Contact ID field in the Send Results To section of the record. All other fields in this section must be left blank to prevent test results from being sent to the wrong person. To correctly print and send results, run the Drug Screen Results letter by Patient ID, then manually address the results to the patient recipient.
