iSYSTOC Customized Data Access

The iSYSTOC web-based service lets you provide your clients with information in an interactive, online environment through a secure, encrypted connection.

Correcting Specific iSYSTOC Problems

Clinics can set up access so that their client companies (or insurance carriers, or off-site physicians) can view patient data.

Three levels of security are built into the iSYSTOC system:
  • Anyone accessing iSYSTOC must have a valid User ID and Password set up in SYSTOC. Remote users must be assigned to the NORIGHTS permission group.
  • The security restrictions associated with the ID and Password show only the specific information that pertains to each user, and users cannot modify anything in SYSTOC.
  • iSYSTOC activity that passes through the Internet should use a Transport Layer Security (TLS) Certificate. This ensures the data is encrypted when passing through the Internet.
Note: The TLS Certificate is optional if you are using iSYSTOC ER only inside your intranet.

To set up a remote user, go to Utility > Security > User Information. Specify the Filter Type and Filter ID for each remote user. See User Information.

It is very important that remote users keep their ID/Password secure. The fewer people who have access to the ID and Password, the better. You may want to change the passwords every few months as an additional security precaution.

Note: Be sure to inform client companies not to release Remote User IDs and Passwords to anyone outside the company!

An additional component of this program called iSYSTOC E.R. provides 24-hour access to company-specific procedures for Emergency Department personnel. This ensures that company protocols are followed accurately when an employee visits the E.R. or other hospital department due to a work-related accident or screening requirement.

Go to the Customer Resource Center for complete iSYSTOC and iSYSTOC E.R. instructions.

Problem Solution
Injury information does not display for one or more employees. Check to see if the Info Rel field on the Injury screen for the patient(s) in question is set to Y. A setting of N or M will prevent some or all injury information from displaying. (Note: privacy status cases are not displayed individually, but are included in the Trend Analysis.)
Transcription doesn't display in iSYSTOC There are several settings that determine whether transcription displays in iSYSTOC:
  • The setting in the web.config file must allow it. Either the default setting of ShowApproved or the ShowAll alternative can be used. ShowNone will block that information.
  • If the ShowApproved setting is used, transcription data will only display when the Transcription Approved field on the SYSTOC Treatment screen for the applicable visit is checked.
  • The Permission Group to which the iSYSTOC user is assigned must have the Allow View field in the iSYSTOC_TreatmentMemo component checked.
The Out of Work days field is blank. The out of work days information shown in iSYSTOC is based on SYSTOC's Clinic Work Status data, not Company Work Status. Make sure that you have filled in the appropriate fields.
The user password has expired. Update the expiration date on the User Information screen. We recommend staggering expiration dates so all user passwords do not expire at the same time.
Patient names do not appear on the Drug List and Drug Detail screen. There must be a checkmark in the Print Patient Names field on the SYSTOC Company Drug Program screen in order for patient names to appear.
The Other Results tab does not display data. To appear on the Other Results tab, the results data must have been entered under Screening > Lab Test/Misc in SYSTOC and the Test ID must have been entered as an allowed Task ID in the iSYSTOC web.config file. (Note: You should never include Task IDs for tasks that might be privacy-sensitive, such as HIV or drug tests.)

The following only apply to iSYSTOC version 4.1 and above:

One or more procedures do not appear in iSYSTOC E.R. There must be a checkmark in the Show in iSYSTOC E.R.? field on the Procedure or Company Procedure screen in order for the associated procedure to display.
A PDF attached to an order does not appear in iSYSTOC.
  • Is the PDF flattened? Only flattened PDFs display.
  • Is the Show PDF in iSYSTOC field in the orders grid checked?
A particular company's data does not appear in iSYSTOC E.R. Is the Active Client field checked on its Company screen? Only data from active companies displays in iSYSTOC E.R.
