Record Menu
The Record menu (Alt+R) contains keyboard shortcuts for common tasks related to records in the data screen view.
You have the option to press Alt+R and select the underlined letter of the item you want or to simply use the Ctrl key shortcuts.
Add | Ctrl+A | Add a new record. |
Copy | Ctrl+O | Copy this record. When a record is copied, the memo is also copied. Be sure to edit or delete the contents if necessary. |
Delete | Ctrl+D | Delete this record. |
Memo | F3 | Open the memo attached to this record. If no memo is available, this option will be disabled. |
Save | Ctrl+S | Save the data displayed on screen. |
Add | Ctrl+A | Add a new record. |
Reload | Ctrl+R | Revert to the saved version,
abandoning any work in progress. You can use Reload to abort from adding a new
record. This button also might be needed if you began editing a record and
discovered you were working on the wrong one. Reload would restore the record
to its original condition. In the Appointments and Clinical Work Area modules,
Reload will refresh the schedule displays to show any activity by other persons
on the network.
This button is also handy to update a record after entering underlying data elsewhere that normally is brought into this record. For example, you want to add an ICD history record because you received an error message saying it was missing. But, after starting the record, you realize that ICD history is picked up automatically from the injury. So you go to the injury and add the missing ICD code there. When you return to ICD history, you will see your partially completed record. To update it, just Reload and the ICD code you entered via injury will appear. |

After searching for a selection of records, you can use the Next button to display the next record in the List, or the Previous button to move back. The program will alert you when you have reached the first or last record of the selected group. If you have not entered Search criteria, you also have the option to move through all the records in a file by pressing Alt + for the next record, or Alt + for the previous record. Mouse users can perform the function with the Browse buttons (marked <<Prev. and Next>> above the Options View). |
