Session History and Screen Tabs
Every open screen in the current work session displays a tab that indicates the screen's name and displays an icon that specifies whether the data displayed on screen have been modified from the saved version. When the data shown are identical to the saved version, the tab displays a green checkmark. If data have been entered or changed but not saved, the tab displays a red X. A tab may also display a white cross in a blue circle, indicating that the data screen is in Add mode.
SYSTOC screens remain open until closed by the user, or until the limits of the history cache are reached. After reaching the specified limit, each subsequent screen you open causes the oldest open screen to close. There can be up to twenty open screens at one time, but the default is set to ten to reduce demands on your system. To modify the number of screens held in the history cache, go to the Personal Preferences section of the Utilities module.
Pressing Ctrl+B or using the Back button closes the current screen and displays the one immediately behind it. Pressing Alt+O or clicking on the Close button on the bottom left of the screen does the same. If the data on the screen were not previously saved, a system message will ask if you want to save before closing. Select Yes to save and close, No to close without saving, or Cancel to return to the unchanged data screen. The unsaved data warning may also appear if you exit SYSTOC, or if the system is about to close a screen because the cache limit has been reached.
Clicking on a tab displays the attached screen without closing the one you just left. If tabs appear to the right of the current screen's tab, you have the option of moving through them by pressing Ctrl+W or using the Forward button. Moving forward will not cause any open screens to close. If you are in Reports List view, clicking on a tab will restore the Options View in addition to displaying the attached screen.
