Tracking Charges

The Tracking Charges option is used for recording charges and receipts. Use it to track revenue by company, cost center, and procedure, and accumulate all charges and receipts continuously for each account.

While Tracking Charges can be used to generate invoices, there is no ability to do batch processing or to age invoices. Clinics generally use Tracking Charges if they do not intend to print invoices, either in conjunction with Invoicing (when only certain services are not billed) or instead of Invoicing (when the clinic does not do its own billing). This option can be accessed from the Billing Folder > Tracking Charges menu choice or from any Orders grid from which you can Invoice.

If you only use Tracking, you will always be taken to the Tracking Charge screen when you mark orders for invoicing. If you are using both the Tracking Charges and Invoicing methods, you will be asked which one you want to use.


Specify your clinic’s invoicing preference in the Billing Module section of Utility > Program Preferences, as described in Program Preferences

Note: To access reports specifically designed for use with Tracking Charges, press F2 from the Tracking Charge screen.
