Recording Lost Work Time

This topic discusses how to record lost work time.

To record out of work status, enter O in Cl Status on the Treatment screen (with a T in the C/A/N/T field). The effective date is the next day unless the physician indicates otherwise (shortcut: F8 and + from the number pad). Enter O into the Co Status field, and SYSTOC automatically copies whatever date you entered for the clinic.

When the physician releases the patient for light or limited duty, enter L in the Cl Status field on the Treatment screen (with a T in the C/A/N/T field). If the company has no light duty work available, the patient will remain out of work as far as the company is concerned. In that case, place an O in the Co Status field. As before, the effective date is the next day, unless the attending physician specifies otherwise.

When the physician determines the patient can return to regular duty, enter R in the Cl Status field of the Treatment record. Again, the next day typically is the effective date. Enter R in the Co Status field, and the date is copied automatically.

Note: During subsequent treatment visits, leave the Cl Status and Co Status fields blank if the patient's work status remains unchanged. If work status does change, be sure to indicate so in these two fields and also notify the company.
