Chart and Orders Tab - Current Orders

The Current Orders tab is the default view for the right side of the Clinical Work Area screen. When an appointment is selected from either of the appointment tabs, the patient's name and a description of the appointment appear above this tab while the current medical orders attached to that appointment display underneath. This is the area in which providers will do a majority of their work during the appointment.

Note: The Current Orders tab may also display orders for other appointments/staff scheduled for the patient on the same day, such as a treatment received in the emergency room, or a physical therapy appointment. The orders NOT associated with the current appointment display with a light gray background.

When the selected appointment is an injury, the status of the case is indicated by a file folder icon that appears on the Current Orders tab. An open folder means the case is open, while case closure is indicated by a closed folder.

Anytime an orders list appears in SYSTOC it is displayed in an editable grid. Cells within the grid have either a gray or a white background. Data in gray cells cannot be modified, but data in white cells can be edited either by typing directly in the cell or by accessing a drop down menu or lookup (when available) to select an appropriate entry. You do not have to actively save data entered in the orders grids on the CWA; after you leave a cell in which a change has been made, that change is saved automatically.
