Refreshing SYSTOC Data

The first time a PDF form is opened, SYSTOC retrieves the appropriate form from the Forms folder and loads it with available data. If the form is closed without saving, SYSTOC continues to regard it as a blank form, and loads it with data when it is opened again.

If a form is opened and then saved (with or without data entry), a chart file is created, and any data that a user entered in the form's write-linked fields are saved back to SYSTOC. A chart will always load, rather than a blank form, if a chart exists on the order. A chart retains the same data it had when it was last saved. A user may update the chart with currentSYSTOC data by using the Refresh SYSTOC Data button, but existing chart data may be overwritten in the process. Once flattened, a chart cannot be updated.

Note: If you notice inaccurate information in your form, you can save the form to preserve your work, go back to the supporting SYSTOC data-entry screen(s) that contain the source data, fix them, come back into the form, and refresh the SYSTOC data to bring in the corrections.

Fields on the form that actually write back to SYSTOC can be fixed right on the form without returning to SYSTOC. Each form's help screen shows which fields only read SYSTOC data and which write back to SYSTOC. You can also determine this by hovering your mouse over a field to reveal the tooltip. One asterisk in the tooltip indicates the field reads SYSTOCdata, and two asterisks indicates the field both reads and writes data back to SYSTOC.
