Working with Forms

When a form is opened, a corresponding button opens on the Windows taskbar at the bottom of your screen. The button is marked with the same pencil icon seen in the orders grid. Hover your cursor over the button to display the form name. Right-click to access an option menu. You can minimize and maximize the form using the menu options, or minimize using the Windows button in the upper right corner of the screen.

Return to SYSTOC by minimizing or closing an open form and, if necessary, clicking on the SYSTOC button in the taskbar. If you need to open another form before closing the current one, minimize the current form and click on the pencil icon of another form in the orders grid. Revisit any minimized form by selecting its button on the taskbar. While a form is open, it is assigned a status of "I" (In use) and other users cannot add or edit data, although they can access the form as read-only. You should not leave forms open longer than necessary.

PDF forms that you want to use in SYSTOC must be located in the Forms or Forms\Custom subfolder in the application folder. When you launch a form from an order for the first time, SYSTOC enters available linked data into the appropriate fields. With few exceptions, data in any form field may be edited and saved in the form. Sometimes data that came from SYSTOC can be edited in the form and saved back, sometimes not. It depends on the design of the form; the form's help file explains which will happen.
