Deleting Orders

If an appointment is scheduled and then canceled without rescheduling, the appointment, and any attached orders, will normally be deleted as one operation. Occasionally, however, an order may need to be deleted as a separate operation. Select the order you wish to delete and then press Ctrl+D or click on the trash can icon in the top menu. A warning message reminds you that orders can have medical records attached to them.

Note: Always check to be sure there is no chart attached to an order before deleting it.

You can easily determine this by looking in the second column (the F column) of the order you wish to delete. If the square (which may have one of several different types of icons in it, depending on the file type) has a dark teal background, there is a chart file of some type attached to the order. If that is the case, always check the contents of the file first, to be sure it is something of no importance, before deleting.
