Move Invoices

Another global change option on the Special menu on the top menu bar is called Move Invoices. It displays a window, which can be used to move processed invoices from one account to another, either individually or in a selected group. (Invoices that have not yet been processed can simply be changed, it is not necessary to use this function to move them.) You might want to move processed invoices if a workers’ compensation claim was denied and needs to be moved to the patient’s account, or you are preparing to merge two companies and need to move all the invoices.

The default setting for this window is to move a single invoice; but you can choose to move all invoices for the designated account by selecting that option. The information that defaults into the Account Type and ID fields comes from the invoice that is open when you access the option, but those entries can be changed, if needed. Enter the account and ID information for the account you want the invoice(s) moved to, and then click the OK to Move Invoices button to complete the move.

It is important that you heed the notice written in red at the bottom of this window: after moving an invoice you will need to verify whether other invoice information needs to be changed in order to be correct.
