Automatic Series Recall

It is possible to make automatic recalls for any type of series-based events, such as Hepatitis B, tuberculosis, etc.

Note: The automatic series Recall function is triggered by the orders data entry. If you do not use orders, you will not be able to take advantage of this capability.

First, make sure that the appropriate Recall Series has been created under the File Maintenance > Setup-Orders > Recall Series option. See File Maintenance, Recall Series and Quick Guide to Recall Letters for complete setup instructions. Then, complete data entry for the first event in the series through Orders. You don't have to do the data entry directly into the SYSTOC data entry screen, you can use a PDF form; as long as the form correctly links to the data table, the recall series will still work when the form saves the data. When you save the initial data, you may see a question about whether the series is complete. If this is not the last (or only) event in the series, answer No. Next, the Recall records are created. If you checked the Auto Add Recalls option when creating the Recall Series you will receive one notification when the recalls are made. Otherwise, you will see a system message asking if it is OK to create the recall. There will be one message for each event in the series. It is possible to have a "series" that consists of just one event, repeated on a predictable basis. This would be appropriate for DOT physicals, for example.
