Form Edit Mode

Form edit mode uses the familiar Tap2Chart workspace design and operation with slight modifications to make it clear you are editing rather than completing a specific Tap2Chart form.

The image below shows the Workers Compensation Initial Visit in edit mode. No visit in progress is displayed in the top heading which indicates the edit mode was opened without displaying a patient's note. If a note is in progress when a user opens form edit mode, the patient's note is temporarily suspended by edit mode and the name and visit information would display in the top heading area. When you close edit mode, you are returned to the patient's note.

Section headings have a yellow background. Answers to fields may be a combination of static text and field definitions as shown in the Employee of: field of the Demographics section above. Field definitions are enclosed in brackets [ ] and are used to specify data from the primary application that you want to be imported when Tap2Chart is launched. Consult the list of available fields for SYSTOC to obtain the correct words and format that should be used inside the brackets.

The window to the right of the workspace displays information about the form:
  • Name: The name of the Tap2Chart form can only be changed in this field.
  • Requires Injury?: Controls whether or not an injury ID is required in the form and whether injury data writes to the primary application.
    • Selected: The option is selected by default on new and existing forms. When selected, an injury ID is required in the form and injury data writes to the primary application. A message displays if you try to use an injury form with a non-injury appointment.
    • Cleared: an injury ID is not required in the form and injury data does not write to the primary application. Clear the option if you want to create a form that does not require an injury. The form can then be used for a non-injury exam such as an independent medical exam.
  • Edit First Page Header and Edit Header: See Edit the Headers.

When a Tap2Chart form name is identical to a SYSTOC order (task prototype) description, that Tap2Chart form will automatically open when users select the pencil icon in SYSTOC. If the two names are not identical, users are prompted to select from a list of all available forms.
