Tracker Author Guidelines
The Tracker is a journal of trends, ideas, and issues that are important to healthcare professionals. It is published four times a year by Occupational Health Research and is available in print and electronic versions.
We welcome original manuscripts
The Tracker welcomes original manuscripts related to current issues in the clinical, administrative, or sales and marketing categories of the occupational health, urgent care, wellness, and rehabilitation fields. Other articles of interest to our readers are those that discuss successful program initiatives. Occasionally, the Tracker publishes opinion articles on potentially controversial topics in a point of view column.
First step: submit a summary for approval
Before beginning to write, submit a summary of 250 words or less or an outline of the proposed article to the Editor of the Tracker (editor@systoc.com). After receiving preliminary approval, prepare the manuscript, with references and footnotes documented. Articles are typically between 1000 and 1500 words; longer topics are separated into two-part articles. Submit your manuscript, along with a short biographical sketch and your picture, electronically to our Editor or by mail to Tracker Editor, Occupational Health Research, PO Box 900, Skowhegan, ME 04976.
Use high-quality charts and images
Charts and pictures should be included at the end of the article with notes to indicate where they are to be placed. The image files for the charts and pictures are to be submitted with your article. Images should have a minimum resolution of 300ppi, can be full color or grayscale, and must be in a common format such as tif, pdf, or jpeg (save jpeg at the highest quality setting possible). Submit image files electronically to our Editor or send originals for scanning to Tracker Editor, Occupational Health Research, PO Box 900, Skowhegan, ME 04976. Please remember that images taken from the Internet are generally not high enough resolution for print media.
When we accept your article
The Editor will notify the author if the article is approved, and work with the author on any necessary changes. The Tracker reserves the right to edit the manuscript as long as the meaning is not altered. Once accepted for publication, the author assigns rights of ownership to the Tracker, therefore the article should not be submitted elsewhere for publication unless it has been rejected by the Editor. Requests for copies should be directed to Occupational Health Research or reprinted from www.systoc.com.
Once your article is published
Authors are permitted to reproduce the printed version of their written work on their own website and to use article content as the basis of presentations they personally make provided that Occupational Health Research’s Tracker journal is given credit for originally publishing the material. A link to www.systoc.com must appear in conjunction with any reprints that appear on the author’s website.
