The successful setup of any practice management system requires careful planning.
We'll review your hardware needs—our experienced technicians can help avoid costly mistakes.
For those who prefer a hosted situation, we also offer a
cloud computing option.
We set up and maintain a dedicated virtual server for you, plus install all necessary software and make all needed backups.
Below are important hardware/software recommendations for SYSTOC:
Recommended workstation
- Any dual–core CPU
- 1024 x 760 monitor resolution (or greater)
- Windows® XP Pro with latest service packs
- 2GB RAM
- Hard disk space as needed
- DVD–ROM or CD–ROM
- Adobe® Acrobat software

- Any dual–core CPU
- 1024 x 760 viewing screen resolution (or greater)
- Windows® XP Tablet PC Edition with latest service packs
- 2GB RAM

Recommended database
server configuration
- SYSTOC requires a Microsoft SQL database server.
- We strongly recommend that you utilize the expertise of a certified Microsoft Database Administrator (DBA) to manage your MSSQL setup.
- Memory (RAM): 1GB + 75MB per user
- Network Bandwidth: 2000kbps per user
- Processor (CPU): OS requirements + 265MHz per user

File
Storage recommendations
- SYSTOC uses PDF forms to create and save patient charts. Patient volume at your clinic and number of PDF forms you use per visit determine file storage requirements.
- Our technical specialists are happy to help you calculate your file storage needs.
Backup
- Comprehensive backup and disaster recovery systems are imperative for any medical practice. You should involve a qualified IT professional in developing systems that work for your particular practice.
- Full backups, not incremental backups, should always be made, with a method for regularly verifying the integrity of the backup.
Virtualization
- SYSTOC can run in a virtualized environment. Because of the complex nature of virtualization, we recommend that you have a qualified IT professional assist you during setup and to periodically measure performance.

- We can provide you additional suggestions on electronic signature pads, printers, scanners, e-mail, and fax software.
