The Practice of Occupational Medicine in Medical Centers

[Posted 09/08/2008] The American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) has updated its guidance statement on applicable guidelines and professional opinions regarding the practice of occupational medicine in medical center settings. The guidance covers a broad range of situations that hospital-based providers my face, including:

  • medical assessment of employees

  • medical direction

  • healthcare safety

  • biological hazards

  • physical hazards

  • chemical hazards
