Updated CDC Guidance on H1N1 Influenza in the Workplace

[Posted 07/01/2009] Even though H1N1 flu continues to spread, there are certain sectors that have very low risk. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has updated its guidance for low-risk workplaces, such as offices that have minimal contact with the public.

The most recent update concludes “that a worker who has been exposed to a person with pandemic influenza A (H1N1) may continue to go to work unless he/she becomes ill.”

The CDC H1N1 flu website provides a list of symptoms of the disease, workplace prevention tips, and coping strategies for businesses that experience a confirmed case: www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/guidance/workplace.htm.
