California Enforcing First-ever Heat Illness Prevention Regulations

[Posted 07/24/2008] Californias Department of Industrial Relation Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) has increased its enforcement of the US’s first heat illness prevention regulations. Cal/OSHA has been performing more inspections, issued more citations, and pursued legal means more aggressively (e.g., building criminal cases and issuing stop-work orders to employers who flout the regulations). Cal/OSHA has also stepped up its outreach effort, providing on-site consultations, seminars, and similar events statewide.
