New EBT Devices
Added to CPL

On
December 17, 2007, the National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration (NHTSA) published a notice in
the Federal Register that updates the list of
instruments that conform to the model specifications
for Evidential Breath Testing (EBT) Devices. This notice
updates the Conforming Products List (CPL) published
earlier in the Federal Register on June 29,
2006 (71 FR 37159) for instruments that conform to
the Model Specifications for Evidential Breath
Testing Devices (58 FR 48705).
The
following six instruments were added to the CPL:

Intoxilyzer 240 (aka Lion Alcolmeter 400+ outside
US) [manufactured by CMI, Inc., Owensboro,
Kentucky]

Alcotest 9510 [manufactured by Draeger Safety,
Inc., Durango, Colorado]
-
AlcoQuant 6020 [manufactured by EnviteC by
Honeywell GmbH, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin]
-
EC–IR–II
(enhanced with serial numbers above 10,000)
[manufactured by Intoximeters, Inc., St. Louis,
Missouri]
-
Phoenix 6.0 [manufactured by Lifeloc
Technologies, Inc., Wheat Ridge, Colorado]
-
ALC–PRO
II (US) [manufactured by Tokai-Denshi, Inc.,
Tokyo, Japan]
