NIOSH Seeks
Input on PPE Plan for Healthcare Workers
[Posted 04/01/2008]
NIOSH has drafted a document that addresses the lack
of preparedness regarding effective Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers in
the event of an influenza pandemic. The Personal
Protective Equipment for Healthcare Workers Action
Plan outlines both near-term and long-term
activities for improving preparedness. Topics
include research on how influenza is transmitted,
PPE performance and standards, and PPE use and
compliance.
NIOSH is soliciting comments on the action plan,
which is available for review at
http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/review/public/129/pdfs/lttr022208.pdf, through June 1, 2008.
