The position, starting at 20 hours/week, involves a range of occupational health duties including injury and illness management, wellness and health promotion, vaccinations, ergonomics evaluation, travel medicine and episodic urgent care in a high–tech pharmaceutical setting.

The successful applicant must have at least 2 years (5 years preferred) of clinical experience in Occupational Medicine or Corporate Employee Health, currently licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina and COHN certified. Training in other fields of specialization, including Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine is a plus. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be dedicated to outstanding customer service.

Job Description

The successful candidate will collaborate with the Director of Occupational Health Services, Medical Director, SYSTOC Administrator, Sales Consultants and Office Manager to carry out the objectives of the Occupational Health Services; evaluate and update nursing practice guidelines, and assist Director in maintaining up–to–date resource materials and conducting performance appraisals to ensure proper staff development and efficient patient flow; intervene in a timely manner to resolve customer complaints while holding self and others accountable for meeting objectives and commitments; demonstrate commitment to collaborative practice and communicates clearly, concisely, and effectively while exercising sound judgment; assist Director in development of and adherence to the budget; assist with weekly payroll; meet performance expectations for Resource Utilization, Customer Service, Staff and Self–Development, and Teamwork as outlined in performance review; complete all other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operation of the dept/unit.

Job Requirements

Requirements include: BSN preferred; minimum 5 years in an Occupational Health setting; previous management experience preferred; computer knowledge, including Word and Excel, Unit Specific Orientation; current state of Connecticut Registered Nurse license; COHN/COHN–S preferred; frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping; occasional kneeling, climbing, carrying; frequent telephone work and computer use; must exhibit fine motor coordination. Inductive and deductive reasoning, must be able to remain calm while dealing with high volume, high stress situations; potential for Bloodborne Pathogen exposure.
