FDA Approves First Rapid Test for Hepatitis C Antibodies

[Posted 6/30/10] The OraQuick HCV Rapid Antibody Test is a test strip that takes about 20 minutes to obtain results. It is approved for use on individuals at risk of HCV infection or with signs or symptoms of hepatitis. It is not approved for HCV screening of the general population. OraQuick is manufactured by OraSure Technologies, Inc.
