New Employer Survey Measures Impact of Health Management Practices

[Posted 7/21/10] Integrated Benefits Institute (IBI) surveyed 450 U.S. employers to evaluate which health and productivity management (HPM) practices have the greatest impact on employee satisfaction. Unfortunately, the practices rated highest—early disability reporting, transitional return to work, and onsite providers—are used by less than half the respondents. Nurse case management was another highly–effective practice, with positive impact on all three of the measured outcomes (absences, medical costs, productivity costs). Employers might want to consider the results of this survey when planning strategies.
